This August, the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame will induct the Gang along with the great Leon Rausch, the “voice” of Bob Wills and his Texas Playboys,

This year’s festival concert also will include a variety of special guests and performers, including Neal McCoy and his Mount Rushmore Band.

Tommie Ritter Smith, president of the Chamber of Commerce in Panola County (home of the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame) said, “We’re going to go back all the way to the beginning of country music, and we’re going to honor some different genres than what we’ve honored before: country gospel and western swing."  Smith said both genres are very important to Texas heritage, and it is hoped this year's festival (which runs August 9 - 12) will bring in a whole new generation of fans.

Aug. 12 activities include Gospel at the Hall from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m., with Gena Hamilton and the Chuck Wagon Gang.

***Festival tickets run between $60 and $100. For more information, visit tcmhof.com ***
