Update - Chuck Wagon Gang Homecoming April 10th

Excitement is building as our 4th Annual Chuck Wagon Gang Homecoming is just a little over two weeks away. This will be held at the Smoky Mountain Convention Center in Pigeon Forge, TN at 1:00 PM and 6:00 PM. Doors open at 11:30 AM and 4:30 PM.
While we will have tickets for sale when the doors open, it is best to call ahead and make your reservations. At this time there are only 37 seats left in the left and right center sections. There are plenty of good seats on the extreme left and right sections. We will soon begin advertising on radio and local newspapers in the area. For best seat selection, it would be best to secure your reservation before this advertising begins. Orders placed after April 3rd will be held as "will-call" at the ticket desk at the Convention Center. You can pick these up after the doors open at 11:30 AM. Refunds are only available up to 10 days prior to the program. You can find an up-to-date seating chart at thechuckwagongang.net/2010seating.html. I think I am up-to-date in mailing all ticket orders, but if you have not received your tickets yet, please call toll-free, 888-319-1021. We have a block of rooms at the Ramada Inn next door to the convention center. This is very convenient as you can walk from the motel to the convention center. Standard rooms are available for the special rate of $69 per night for up to four people. Upgrades are also available. Rooms are available several nights before and after our Homecoming at this rate. I understand the Ramada is quickly filling on some nights, and an alternate motel is in place 3-4 blocks away for the overflow and at the same rate. For motel reservations, please call toll-free, 800-523-3919. Mention Chuck Wagon Gang Homecoming to get the special rate. The afternoon program will feature singing by the Chuck Wagon Gang. There will be a question and answer time, and a time when you can sing or play a song with The Chuck Wagon Gang. This is limited to 15 participants. There are a few spots still available, so please contact me if you are interested. For a small charge we will mail you a DVD of your performance with The Gang. You may pay for your DVD at the front desk when the doors open. The evening program will again feature songs by the current Chuck Wagon Gang. Our Homecoming is special as we invite some of the former members to join us. As you know, we've never published a list in advance of the former members attending. This is because the situations change and quickly. Sticking my neck out this year, here are our expectations. Making his first appearance ever at our Homecoming will be Ronnie Page. Ronnie came to the CWG in 1962 and has been back with the group several times over the years. Vickie Gordon Owens will be with us. Vickie is the daughter of the late Anna and Howard Gordon, and the Mother of Shaye. Vickie has not been with us since our first Homecoming. Melissa Kemper will also be returning, and most of you will remember her with the Gang not so long ago. Making her first visit to this event will be Alynn Bilodeau-George, coming all the way from Wales. Alynn was with the Gang in the early 90's, and replaced Ruth Ellen Carter Yates on alto. Alynn and her husband, Howie minister in song all over the world. I'll be there as well, and am expecting some other confirmations. We've added an optional add-on to the Homecoming this year. Lunch with The Gang will be held at Tony Gore's Smoky Mountain BBQ and Grill in Sevierville from 10:30-11:30 AM. There will be an all-you-can-eat lunch (brunch) and drink for $20. This is a private affair, and you must have Homecoming Tickets to attend the Luncheon. The luncheon is already half sold out. An optional second seating may be added at 12:30 if there are a sufficient number of folks wanting to attend. To add the lunch, call 888-319-1021. Next years 5th Annual Homecoming will be held on Saturday, April 9th at the same location and tickets are the same price as for this year. If you are happy with your seats this year, you may purchase the same seats for next year during the evening intermission. All seats not purchased at the event will be released to the public at the end of the program. Refunds are available up to 10 days in advance of next years program.
