The Chuck Wagon Gang Senate Presentation

On Wednesday March 9th  2016, The Chuck Wagon Gang was honored by the State of Tennessee. Senate Joint Resolution 419 was passed by The Tennessee Senate and The House of Representatives to honor and recognize The Chuck Wagon Gang on its illustrious and amazing eighty-year career in the field of gospel music. 

The resolution was sponsored by Senator Becky Duncan Massey of Knoxville and co-sponsored by Senator Randy McNally of Oak Ridge and Senator Richard Briggs of Knoxville. The day began with a meet and greet with the Lt. Governor of the State of Tennessee Ron Ramsey in his office at the Legislative Plaza. 

The members of The Chuck Wagon Gang were then invited to participate in a special ceremony in the Senate Chamber at the State Capitol as special guests of the Senate to receive a framed copy of the resolution that had been passed unanimously by the Senate.  Chief Clerk of the Senate, Russell Humphrey read highlights of the resolution and a framed copy of the Resolution signed by Senator Massey, Lt. Governor Ron Ramsey, Speaker of the House of Representatives Beth Harwell and the Governor of Tennessee Bill Haslem was presented to the Group. Also participating in the presentation of the Resolution was Senator Jeff Yarbro of Nashville.
