Former Chuck Wagon Gang Bass Singer Ron Crittenden Has Passed Away

Ron Crittenden, former bass singer for the Gang and the Jubilaires Quartet of Ft. Worth Texas passed away on June 14th.  He sang with the Gang from 1959-1960 and was their emcee.  He also recorded three albums with the Gang during this time on Columbia Records: "(Let's) All Praise The Lord," "Prayers In Song," and "Sings The Songs Of Mosie Lister".  

The Jubilaires Quartet of Ft. Worth consisted of Larry Housewright, Bill Munday, Maxine Crittenden, and Ron Crittenden. Incidentally, Larry Housewright was a cousin to Ron, and was a temporary tenor for the Gang in the late 50s.

Mr. Crittenden last appeared with the Gang at their Pigeon Forge Homecoming several years ago, where he was presented "The Chuck Wagon Gang's Legend Award".
